In a dark match, Ray Gordy took on Chris Murdock and murdock was very impressive against gordy, but when murdock went to the top turnbuckle, gordy came from behind with a german suplex from the top rope and drove murdock hard into the mat and scored the victory
The show opened up with a bang from the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, the first match was for the european championship as Rob Ryan Defended it against Jamie Golden
Jamie Golden vs Rob Ryan : A stellar match that both superstars performed well in, with both of them being held together by a strap and having to touch each turnbuckle for the win it was very interesting to see how they would get it down, but when golden went for the golden shower, ryan moved and golden hit the mat hard and ryan shot to the top turnbuckle, and hit the ryan five star onto golden, then pulled golden around to each turnbuckle and scored the victory to retain the european championship
Our next match was the six man tag tlc match and it was a brutal match and all six men were using the chairs, tables and ladders and there was alot of carnage all over the ring, but the thing that bothered everyone is that ross and eddie saint james both grabbed the briefcase and fell down together, much confusion was surrounding everyone as to who was the winner and out came eric bischoff, bischoff entered the ring and said it was a draw that nobody won and it seemed that someone needs to be the winner so on the next asylum it would be eddie saint james facing the prophecy and ross taking on the new testament, the winners would face each other at a later time and the final winner would receive what he would had won in the briefcase
The next contest was triple h vs jimmy justice in a first blood match with hunters career on the line and this was one match that was no for the weak at heart as everything was used including hunter being justified through the announce table, however it was the sledgehammer across justices head that did him in and gave triple h a much needed victory to remain in the asylum
The next match was the first ever 6 man hell in a cell match for the vacant united states championship and it was a very brutal match that saw taz and horace tear each other apart, spencer and bishop tore into each other as devue and johnny lang battled as well, but later in the match as all six men were almost out of energy, it was taz who taz plexed spencer off the top turnbuckle and knocking himself out as well, allowed chris devue to lift spencer up and deliver the orvue, hooked the leg and scored the victory to capture the united states championship
The Main Event for the asylum championship was mostly anticipated by alot of fans and it certainly was a great match as the chosen one was all over redford for the majority of the match, but slayer was climbing the cage and redford climbed and grabbed onto slayer, but slayer was able to break free and the two battled to the top of the cage and it was redford who kicked slayer and then looking at the fans, pulled slayer in and lifted him up into a powerbomb and came off the top of the cage with sitdown powerbomb to slayer onto the mat that shook the mellon arena and got the holly shit chant really going, redford was actually able to get up after a few minuted and crawl to the door and the ref opened it and redford crawled out as the fans errupted into cheers as redford became the new asylum champion, redford who was still barely able to get up was handed the asylum championship and lifted up to the fans roars as slayer was still out from that massive powerbomb from the top of the cage, the celebration was still going on as the ref helped redford to the back as locked up came to a close
